My 8 yr old DaVinci is very good off the leash with me and only me. He doesn't try to take off, he stays by my side but he's always been fairly laidback. I can trust him to be off the leash.
I was taking Jeter on very short walks without the leash for the first week because he wasn't really running much and would not walk on a leash. I had to have him get used to having it on and not be afraid of it. I left it on him for long periods of time in the house and now he's doing good with it. He's starting to be able to run faster and farther so he will now be on a leash. |
