Yeah that.
I knew all along my dog was going to be in my bed with me, so I did the crate thing in the very beginning for potty training purposes but it didn't last long.
We graduated to expen while I left but otherwise he had free roam. By 6 months he was pretty reliable.
Now he just gets free run of the entire house when I leave and has since about 9 months.
