Your doing better than many of us! I could only put a 1/4" groomer's band in Gracie's hair when she was a puppy. It took me two months of training with just the band before I could put a light weight bow in her hair! I did find giving a treat right after placing the band and bow helped take her mind off the bow and by the time she was done being rewarded she would forget it was there if I was careful enough to make sure it was not pulling on her head at all. If they feel their hair being pulled by the band they will be constantly reminded of it being there.

Now she is a pro at this bow stuff but I think it is more because of the treat than anything else.
