Barney was neutered at 5 months. He's now almost 2. He rarely humps. I honestly can't remember the last time he did. He tries to lift his leg outside to pee. It's kind of funny because he squats first. So only a drop comes out when he lifts his leg. But I admire him for trying. Anna also occasionally humps. She's around 7. So I am not sure that you can completely avoid the behavior.
