Teddy shivers and hunches his rear end when he is cold. Max almost never gets cold outside, even in the middle of winter. I still put sweaters and coats on him. When temperatures drop under 40 degrees, we usually keep our outings short, 20 - 30 minutes.
Hats can be helpful. I have used our Kiss-E soft collars as ear and head warmers on the coldest of days.
