i was wondering what you all thought of kids and yorkies? |
My two grandchildren are here a lot of the time. they have also been taught to be very careful with the dogs and are only allowed where I keep my yorkies gated if I am in there and they are sitting on the floor. Did that keep my three year old grandaughter from tripping and nearly hurting ceeby/ No it did not. I was helping her over the gate and he got right under her little foot when she went to set it down on the floor. Luckily, it didn't crush his foot. My five year old grandson has to be watched because he gets very excited playing with them. He throws the fetch toy and when they don't bring it right back, he jumps up quick as lightening to go get it and there are yorkies everywhere. So, Long story short, i do not think young children and yorkies go together and in fact when Silk was for sale, I turned down a lady with two small children. when I start having pups, I will not sell to someone that has children under the age of twelve. sorry folks. That's my opinion. No matter how well behaved and knowledgable children are, accidents happen and we have seen it on here too many times already.
