I have bred females later in their season and they did get pregnant so there is a good possibility your girl will be pregnant.
As for the male, I don't think his behavior is that uncommon. I have had males in the past that were very difficult to breed to some females and easy to breed to others. You just never know.
Please let us know if she ends up pregnant and good luck with the whelping if she is pregnant.
