I remember that! Callie is so so brave! I can't believe you got fined & had to hire an attorney...but glad all turned out well.

People that are knowledgeable w/predatory birds say 'they can't carry off a small dog weighing more than them, they (the predatory birds) only weigh 3-4#'s'. We had a HUGE hawk land on our patio railing when we lived in LA & it looked bigger than my 7# Mimi. The wing span covered the whole 10+ feet of the sliding glass window...Wow it was a beautiful & terrifying sight!

Well, what happened to Pippa & many other small dogs proves that they can carry off their prey that is heavier than them! If they can't hold onto them, the fall will cause more injury & possibly even death. Those that are too big to be carried off will have puncture wounds from the sharp talons!

I always scan the sky when we're outside in our backyard. If I see a hawk gliding near or far, we all go inside. Always be on high alert!
