He looks all Yorkie to me, Joey was silver as a young pup and his hair is great, it's very silky, I didn't realize how wonderful it was until I got another little darling with a cotton coat, it really is so much harder to care for, that wouldn't be so bad, but you do end up hurting them sometimes, no matter how careful you are and I HATE that. The perfect coat is said to be one of the most difficult to obtain in the dog world, not only the perfect silkiness, but a dark blue saddle and a golden head. Some breeders introduce black coats in, to darken the saddle, but then this often adds a cottony texture. I've always heard that if they have a white head as a pup, they are more likely to have a silky coat, your Teddy is still young, so it will change a lot in the next year. Nearly all puppies have a more cottony coat with tangling. Silky coats grow slower than cotton coats, is his coat slow growing or fast growing?
