Before you start clipping away, make sure you have first aid stuff handy just in case. When I first started grooming, I made a mistake and accidently snipped too close. Poor baby didn't even yelp. I had the stepic power right there so the bleeding stopped quickly.
I haven't made any mistakes after that one but I make it a habit to keep the basic first aid things close by when I groom.
