Hi all,

My little Winnie just turned one and we've been wanting a second dog. We round a chipoo at a rescue, met her today and brought her home. We brought winston to the rescue which is where they met, they seemed to get along. We brought them home and they played and played and played. At times it almost seemed aggressive but they both kept showing signs of playfulness so we let them keep going. We only had to break it up twice when they got a little too worked up.

Now the chipoo is only 3 months old and very tiny but she was playing rougher than Winston! She kept humping him, grabbing on to his beard and jumping on him. He tolerated it well but I'm kind of worried about her asserting dominance like that. We got a girl dog so winston could continue to be alpha male but it seems like she wants to be on top. Do you think this is normal?

Also, I'm feeling kind of guilty, I don't want winston to think that we love him any less. I'm almost overcompensating by not bonding with the puppy as much as I probably should be. I do want to build a bond with the new puppy but I want to keep my strong bond with Winston. And advice how to do this?
