Default grooming

Hi there~I wasn't exactly sure where to post this...but I have some grooming questions in regards to Winnie. She went to the vet today...and we talked about the fact that she will not let me brush her. She spins and wiggles and bites the comb or brush...so she told me that I basically needed to make her sit still. I came home and gave her a bath...used extra conditioner and then sat with her on my lap on a towel and started to comb. An hour later and we wrestled some but i got a good amount of the little mats out of her hair...we are taking a break. Im using Viva La Dog Spa grooming spritz that says it detangles/no static, and a variety of combs...plastic ones. I used a slicker brush a little bit too. Is there a better product out there to get at the mats? It did work eventually but I had to spray a ton of it...and it still took a good amount of work on one little section of hair. These are some pictures of the spoiled little thing this morning before her bath (outside)...and after an hour of combing (on the couch)...as you can see we still have some work to do on the bottom half of her! But she does look much better!! Thanks in advance!!!!
