Most insurance policies don't cover genetic conditions. Are you at work all day? Most puppies need someone there the first year, if I were you, I'd consider getting an older dog, who is already housebroken and can handle lots of alone time. Yorkies are great for someone who wants a newborn baby and is willing to devote the time. Once Yorkies are 5 or 6 they mellow out a little, but don't count on it. By the way, both of the breeds you are considering are prone to knee problems, and one knee surgery costs $1600 or more. I think the Chihuahua is probably a little cheaper to own, because Yorkies need regular grooming and haircuts. Chihuahua need regular groom, but at least they don't need expensive haircuts. |

It isn't about money. I live comfortably. I know about the knees, the liver, the hypoglycemia, the grooming, and the insurance. All things I'm already planning to take on. I'm taking vacation from work (they pay you for that now) and altering my schedule so that someone is always home. I don't know what gave you the impression that I'm poor and unable to provide. I'm smart enough to know that animals, like children require time and money. This is the moms 4th and last litter. All healthy pups, I even met pups from the first litter. What I'm asking is, is it safe? I have had multiple dogs in my life time; but never 2 puppies from different litters at the same age.
