Yes, you can always, always give Benadryl 30-45 mins before any vaccination. My vet says that in her 30 yrs as a vet, she has never seen a single vaccine reaction in a dog who was given Benadryl prior to a vaccine. It's a great idea to give prior to rabies if you're worried as well.
