She is 100% housebroken and my house does not smell like it did with my last dog. She can easily hold herself for 8 hours if needed and rings a jingle bell if she wants to be let out. We live in MI and get lots of snow and it is very cold, so in the winter, we clean a small area outside our front door, when it's time for her to go I open the door hold a long lead she runs outside and in one min or less she does her business and comes right back in. I know this does not work for everyone but after having a pup that used a potty pad vs one that goes outside, I would choose outside over pee pads any day.
I would love for her to go out 100% of the time but I work during the day and I don't want her to have to hold it or I come home to a mess when I crate her or put her in her expen, I usually have a mess to clean up including giving her a bath sometimes. Fortunately she does still go outside and hopefully that won't change. I just want her to know that she has a place that she can potty. She is so freakin stubborn.
