Good morning from chilly Manitoba! I've been lurking about the forums for a couple of weeks now, trying to learn all I can about Yorkies. We've adopted a 4 month old puppy and have had the pleasure of getting to know this little guy over the past month. He's 4 months NOW I mean
He was a rescue which I find unbelievable. His first family surrendered him due to 'allergies' after having him almost 2 weeks, but their loss, our gain. We never EVER thought we'd have a small dog but it was love at first sight.
Things are going pretty well, we've been crate training and he's awesome overnight. Goes to bed about 10:30pm and sleeps til about 6 when he barks til we take him for his walk. Housebreaking is going well, we take him for regular walks so very few 'accidents' in the house. Puppy pads are useless....he'll go anywhere BUT on those.
He's got such a big personality and is a real sweetheart, no regrets
The only negative in the whole thing is our 16 year old cat. We'd hoped she would accept him eventually but she's still just as mad now as she was day 1. Grumpy old thing.
Anyway, I've rambled long enough...looking forward to learning more from you experienced Yorkie owners/parents!
One forum related question though. Out of my 5 previous posts on this forum, 2 have had pop up messages that they need to be approved before posting. One eventually appeared but the last one never did. And that was in a thread I'd posted twice before without those ones being moderated. What's up with that? Is it because I'm new?
