I haven't tried the grain free. I feed the Yorkies and my Lhasa the small bites formula and my Standard Poodles the large breed. I did recently switch my one Poodle over to the Salmon based food because of some allergy issues he's having. If that doesn't help, I'm going to try the grain free next. I've been feeding it for a couple of years with no issues and the dogs all love it, even my picky 15 year old Yorkie.
