It doesn't even mean he has CT. As for how they will be in the future, no one has a crystal ball. There is no rhyme or reason to it.
It's really quite simple. If a dog is coughing, he/she needs to see a vet. If it continues perhaps further diagnostics are in order.
All I can say is: Be careful what you ask for.
