When it Rains it Pours Some of you may have seen my post about Bogie and his possibly having collapse trachea. Well he went from coughing occasionally to coughing a lot, it seemed like he was progressing at an alarming rate.
Well I took him back in on Wednesday for a digital x-Ray so we could hopefully see now bad his trachea is.
On the X-Ray his trachea looks perfect. No narrowing or collapse. But the issue is his heart, he had no murmur or enlarged heart and blood work is fine. His heart sits very high in his chest cavity though and is almost touching the windpipe.
There was some fluid in the lower part of his throat and what our vet thinks looks like a secondary infection from allergies as, his cough is dry and nonproductive..
He is on prednisone, cephalexin and furosemide for 14 days. This is day 4 of meds and his cough is gone.
Sorry this is so long...but with the fluid med and the steroid, Bogie is peeing everywhere. He can't control it at all. I made belly bands last night and am using poise pads to line them.
My question...how long before he doesn't stand like a statue or act like he's shamed to death by wearing the band? Poor guy won't barely move. |
