For the stuff I like to read (physics, math, and computer science books) if I really want a hard copy I buy Indian editions on ebay; they're perfectly legal books put out by the same publishers, but they're $20 paperbacks instead of the $200 hardcovers they screw Americans over on. LOL these publishers going all the way to the Supreme Court (and losing) to try to ban importing their own books they publish for the Indian and Chinese markets. I also like to buy used books on amazon if I really want a hardcover.
