i put toby in his crate when we go to work and when we go to bed...... during the day he is only in his crate for about 8 hours(sometimes a ltitle longer, sometimes a little shorter) and the night is flexable, but so far he sleeps through the night without waking us up, if he needs to go potty he will "ask" to get out
I respect everyone elses opinions about taht being too long, but we are very careful and make sure he goes potty right before he goes in, and right after he gets out of his crate..... i would not suggest doing this to a young puppy, but we worked up to 8 hours gradually, we didnt do it all at once. . . he is 7 months old. the only reason he goes into his crate at night is because he was back to making messes on the carpet

so, he gets to sleep in his "bat cave" i think im more depressed about it then he is, he is always such a good snugglebug at night
