When I worked at a vet office I learned all I could about everything. I asked to have looks at the fecals etc. Eventually I started helping in the exam rooms etc...and even though I was a KENNEL ASSISTANT I knew just as much if not more than some of the TECHS.
The techs you are describing don't sound professional or organized. Or maybe i'm hormonal today. |
I have been using this vet for over 30 years, she is the best in my county, she runs a 24/7 ER clinic, holidays/ week ends/ 2AM she has a vet and a full staff. She kept my last yorkie alive for 7 years when my lil girl was diagnosed with cushings disease. I believe it was yorkiemom76 that wrote tapeworms cannot be seen under micro scope, so I cannot blame them for not spotting them. I referred to speaking to a tech that was treating her house for fleas, sorry I used the wrong title for her, she is not a tech, I don't know what her title is, what she does is...calls the ppl that have their animals being treated at the clinic, she lets them know their animals progress. All she is doing is reading notes from the animals chart. She does not assist the vet. There is a
tech that makes these calls Mon. through Thursday, This gals replaces her Fri., Sat. & sun. but she is NOT a TECH., my error. The receptionist, the ones that answer the phones will take messages, that's where the screw up stems from. So let me ask you this, if you had a vet that you used for over 30 years that treated the last 5 dogs you had, kept 2 alive for several years after being diagnosed with serious illnesses , had a 24/7 clinic, which by the way is the ONLY fully staffed 24/7 clinic in my county. You would leave your vet because the ppl that answer the phone cannot relay a question?
