My goodness - it sounds like poor Marcel really had an awful time with that plant! I'm like you, Ann, just had no idea something like could cause so much trouble. Heck, I didn't even know that that plant even existed as a possible health threat to my dog; but since Marcel's trials with it, I happened across a YouTube video of a poor baby at the vet with a foxtail in his nose and the vet was demonstrating how to squeeze on and behind the nostril to reproduce the sneezing and reveal there was likely a foxtail or other foreign body up one of the nostrils. I also found male dogs can get them in caught between the dog's penis and the prepuce and any dog get them stuck under the eyelids, in their mouths, ears, paws and imbedded just about anywhere!

Now, I know what a foxtail plant looks like and try my best to keep Tibbe away from them. As a result of little Marcel's suffering - and his Mommie's, to be sure - we know how to avoid these things thanks to your thread.
