I'm really sorry for your loss!
I originally wanted a little boy, but found our little girl and guess what, I still want a boy. My girl is super sweet and friendly, but not that affectionate or cuddly, unless it's with her dad. I've always heard boys are more affectionate, especially with women. Of course, it varies due to temperament, but IMO that wouldn't be the stereotype for nothing.
Good luck finding your new pup! It's definitely worth looking into several breeders to find the one you want to buy from. You might start with YTCA.com and go from there, but there's tons of resources here on YT to help guide you to the right breeder for you.
