I've only had five female Yorkies, but I hear males are more cuddly. My little girls have been cuddly, too, and each one had/has a different personality with unique strengths that I loved about each of them. Katie is a love bug, yet she is also independent, and I love every bit about her. There are things about Katie that remind me of my Rainbow Bridge babies, but that makes me smile. If your heart is open to loving another little one, I don't think it will matter which sex you choose. I'm deeply sorry for your loss. Buying from a reputable breeder makes all the difference in the world.
