Stand in attendance with your momma...."she can deliver herself" is great bedside manner conversation, and may indicate the babies will fit through the pelvic ring, , but all it takes is one puppy to get sideways, and the whole shooting match changes! Since this is your first litter, make sure you can recognize when you and momma may need vet help, and have a vet lined up for any assistance you may need, including emergency c-section! Hopefully, your momma will not go into labor for a couple more days, to give those babies more time to grow/develop.....preemies that are a week or more premature are a challenge! |
