I'm training my Kiwi (10 weeks old) to go on the pads.I have had her for about 2 weeks now, and she is becoming relatively consistent. The only problem we had was that she kept trying to eat and drag the pad around. We have solved the dragging problem by getting a pad holder (which is basically a frame). As far as trying to eat the pad, every once in a while I catch her trying to shread it. This is my main problem with using the pads. As far as leaving a scent on the pad, that seems to have to opposite effect on Kiwi. She is only willing to go on a completely clean pad. Once there is something on it, that's it! At least it's nice to know that she is concerned about her hygene

I'm not sure if going back and forth between outside and inside will be easy, but some poeple are able to train their puppy to do both.
