all my dog were house broken, rain, snow, sleet, hail and 100 degree temps, my dogs were walked in the morning before I left for work and at 4:30PM when I returned from work, Many times was caught without an umbrella lol, and I was walking 3 lil Indian yorkies. This is the price we pay when we want our pups to potty out doors. An umbrella would have been helpful for you, but you stuck it out and won lol. I now have my own home, so I don't have to leash and walk, just open the door, when Cody sees it's raining or if it rained now it isn't he can smell the rain in the air and will not go out, (don't like to get his feet wet). I pick him up, set him out and close the door, I have him using a 40 x 16 foot gated deck with a roof over the back door that is 16 x8 so he won't get wet if he stays under that roof, I watch him from my windowed door, he will stay out until he makes lol.
