hi everyone just wanted to share what happened to diddy this past week at my local petsmart. first of all i enrolled him in a puppy training class which started last sunday. on friday, the trainer told me to feed him for the last time on saturday morning at 11 am and not to feed him since he will get treats that sunday at 3 pm. i was really concerned and he assured me that it would be ok and all the dogs would be going through the same thing and would be really anxious for treats in class. i knew i shouldn't have listened. poor diddy was so skinny and hungry. in class he received many treats (pupperoni) and i knew that wouldn't be good for a little 2 pound 8 oz puppy especially when he hasn't eaten. well, the next day he was sick with diarrhea and was throwing up. poor little guy. he got over it the next day with the help of a little rice and all hard food. then the second incident occurred yesterday when i brought him to get groomed there as well. since he had a lot of matts they had to shave him. i got a call from the groomer letting me know she had a difficult time with diddy since he is a hyper puppy and she accidently cut him in the next. she said it was an abrasion and wasn't bleeding. she apologized and told me that i need to train the dog since he was so hyper and didn't respond well to her. i spent the whole afternoon waiting for diddy since he was taken to the vet at petsmart. petsmart apologized and told me that i wouldn't have to pay for anything. the doctor gave me two options a suture however he would have to administer anesthia or they would apply a medical glue that would heal the cut. i chose option two since diddy is only 4 months old and i was scared something could go wrong. he's doing fine now. however, they weren't done with his cut and he has full hair on his paws and face but is shaved down all over. i spoke to the manager today and he apologized and told me i could take him back for free so they could finish the grooming. i took diddy back. he was so traumatized. i felt so bad for him. he was shaking. however, i have to bring him back in a week due to the vet's reccomendation because of the glue. i hope he will be ok when he goes back. he is so smart he knows the surroundings and remembers what happened. i take him back to puppy class today too. i hope he will be alright.
