I'm just getting home after my short visit with Lily Rose. What a precious baby. We had to visit in the ICU and had to wear gloves to keep her safe. She stayed in her cage, tucked safely between warm blankets. When we first arrived I sat on the floor next to her and she hardly moved...in fact, she was facing us and when I got on her level, she turned her little head away, almost in fear that something bad was going to happen to her. I whispered to her over and over that she was now safe and that she needed to fight; that nothing would ever hurt her again. The only part of her I could touch was the top of her sweet head, so I gently patted it over and over. Towards the end, she finally turned her head back towards us and looked at me. Yea! The tech said I could try to feed her so we gave her a few small bites of boiled chicken that we brought and she ate. In my amature medical opinion, I think that's a great sign. She's a very, very sick little girl - unable to fight off infection at this point, but certainly in the right place to combat that. Gulf Coast saved my precious boy about 8 weeks ago when there was not much hope - they are amazing. This precious baby needs continued prayers - she deserves so much more than what has happened to her. I'd love to see her happy, and healthy and able to run and play like the rest of our babies! |
