I didn't mean to imply that I think he's over eating, just that it's not good for him to eat so much non-dog food (dog treats/pigs ears don't count). I have a picky eater too, I know how frustrating it is. She eats wet food 2x a day with a little chicken breast on it and if she wants more food she always has access to dry food. It took a long time to find a dry food she'd eat (health extension little bites).

I asked about the onions and garlic because a lot of spices and sauces contain them, and I don't know how you BBQ the food for him.

I agree, it is more likely that he has dirt on his mouth from digging.
