The rain was 14" in just two hours. My house does not have a basement, and several rooms downstairs were covered with water because of the rains. Water came in my sunken living room once last year after doing repairs from Sandy, but otherwise we've never had water in the house in the over twenty years we have lived here. That was the morning. In the evening, Katie and I got caught in torrential rains while walking. I'm sure she can outrun me, but I picked her up and ran home. We were both completely soaked. Despite that, we're lucky compared to what I see in Detroit. I pray everyone is safe.
