Hi and welcome to YT! I am preparing for a puppy too, but we won't be getting her until October. What an exciting time! I would definitely recommend you get a collar with a bell on it, so he can get use to having a collar on and the bell will help you know where he is at all times and prevent accidentally stepping on him. Potty pads can also be a wonderful thing to have on hand in case you have to leave him home for long periods of time. I also would recommend looking into what's called a snuggle pup. This is helpful for over night when they are in their crate. Should prevent long nights of crying and can help prevent separation anxiety.
