Calling ALWAYS has her collar on but it's only for her tags I never ever hook a leash to it. The quickest way to get you dog back if they slip out is by a name tag with your number on it. Callie has collapsing trachea but just wearing a collar is not going to irritate it. When we are using the leash we always use the harness. I keep Callie's collar where if it got stuck on anything it would slip off. I also make sure her collars are very comfy sense she will be wearing it all the time.
