I do know there is a pet veterinary specialist hospital in Irvine ca, on Reynolds road. I think there is an excellent doc there called Dr. Barry or Berry (... Spelling!) he has operated on a couple of dogs I know of and with excellent results.
However Irvine may be a pain to get to from Redlands, especially for frequent follow ups.
There is a Biewer breeder there called Dee ( very good person and experienced breeder) who may be able to help with a local surgeon. Her YT name is ' 'scrapindee'. You may want to PM her for advice.
