Sophie Kate does not wear a Topknot but she does board, they are given instructions on brushing her daily and they always do it with no issue.
Sophie Kate only boards at my Vet and they have a Groomer on site so I am sure that is her job. Also I know at my Vet they always bath the dogs before their owners get home (its nice to come home to a clean dog).
