I know people who have smaller dogs and split the 5-10 pound dosage between the two. Both of the dogs usually fall in the weight range suggested though. I wouldn't give a smaller dog a dosage recommended for larger dogs though. In my opinion, less chemicals is better. If you can get away with it, I would... But, you could also end up with issues with fleas if it wasn't enough.
