I am sorry you are going through this...hopefully it is not CT.

One thing I can tell you is that if you get a negative xray that is not conclusive. The only way to conclusively diagnose CT is with a flouroscopy and the radiologist usually does it and reads it on the spot. CT can be diagnosed by xray IF the trachea collapses at the time of the xray. Hope this makes sense.

Hopefully she just has a URI and it is not what you fear.
