My poor girl had her yearly dental today. Three teeth pulled although her calculus was not that bad.

One tooth the gum had receded so far that they could get an instrument under the arch in the root as it was visible.
She has dissolving stitches and as usual her voice is absolutely destroyed from the intubation. She was given a metacam injection and I was told further meds (amox drops and oral metacam-which she may or may not tolerate due to her dodgy tummy) can wait to be started tomorrow and must be taken with a full tummy.
Problem is, she can't even take little dribbles of water right now because she starts rolling her tongue around in her mouth and croaking (all the sound she can make right now) and it must hurt because she puts her head down and presses the side of it against my leg for a few minutes, then rolls up for a belly rub and falls asleep again. She's been pretty much passed out all afternoon/evening since getting home about 6 PM AKDT.
I only got to talk to the dental tech when I picked her up so will likely put a call into her vet in the morning, but I'm hoping she is doing better by then. Poor thing just seems so uncomfortable. I hate having to do these procedures with her, they take so much out of her.
She is on a very strict diet so there is little I can offer her except for her prescribed food made very wet but I don't think she will eat tonight unless she really perks up before bed.
Any suggestions to help her recover quicker would be most welcome, thank you.
