What you need to learn you can't just learn from the internet or a book. You really need to find a reputable breeder to mentor you and that you can shadow for a few whelps and learn from. You need to learn every last little complication that can happen and how to handle it or you could be putting your female at risk. You also need to have testing done that your regular vet cannot do. It's also VERY important you know the dogs your breeding lines pretty far back to know any illnesses that might run in them. It can be very expensive and breeders are luckily to break even when they do things right. There are also cases where the mom will reject the puppies and then you have to feed them every two hours, clean them, stimulate them to potty everything there mom does. Breeding is a big serious thing to me I feel like it should only be done to better the breed and that the breeder is responsible for bringing these little ones in the world so it's the breeders responsibility to do every single thing they can to make sure they are bringing in healthy pups by doing all the research on the lines and by doing all the expensive and necessary testing.
