Hello, First let me say that I LOVE YORKIES!!! Ever since I rescued 2 adult females from a back yard breeder!! They were in such bad shape! Every infection that you could think of they had along with mammary tumors and other things. I nursed them back to health and they were rehomed to a much quieter lifestyle than I could provide with 5 kids.lol
Since they left me a year and a half ago, I have so desperately missed having my "shadows" follow me every step I took. haha
So now I am purchasing a beautiful parti color female that I am head over heals in love with!
I have NEVER bred a dog or any animal for that matter as I have always been on the "rescue" side of the fence. BUT!!! I got to witness a litter of yorkies being born a few months ago and I was just awe struck with the birthing process and of course the pups!
I now find myself wanting to look into breeding not hard core but just a time or 2. I KNOW I HAVE A LOT TO LEARN!!! and that's why I'm here.
I want to do this right. I do not want poor quality pups. I know some frown on breeding anything but traditionals. I totally understand that.
I would never have thought about a parti color yorkie but I just love this female and she has a great pedigree.
She will be in second heat this winter sometime.
So can anyone recommend a site for breeding info and learning about pregnancy and whelping?
I also would love to know about puppy packs that some breeders give with a new puppy. What do you enclose in the packs?
Any advice is appreciated and no, I am not 100% on breeding yet just wanting to learn about it at this point.
Thanks
