Thank you all for your thoughts. It gets rather scary watching all the news warnings on tv. My 30 yr. old, 2 story house is mostly glass on 2 sides, so flying debris is worrisome; and I'm ocean front, so wild waves is another threat. I really hate that it will happen at night in the dark when I can't see what is going on out there.

My dog carriers, leashes, food and water are already in the car in case I have to evacuate.

Since it will hit the Big Island of Hawaii first, I'm hoping that passing over the 14,000' volcanic craters will knock the punch out of the storm before it hits Maui. I feel bad for the tourists who are here to have a nice vacation and now face this.
