As long as you know how to properly do CPR on a small dog and stay near her in the pool should she get in trouble, she should be fine for swimming, now that you know she can. The majority of dogs automatically how to swim and just as soon as they are strong enough, seem to be able to hold their breath underwater and automatically know how to propel themselves through the water while keeping their head above the water level w/out any lessons. Those not fearful in the water seem to have a ball swimming.
