Caleb likes to be on my lap, but it's my girl who cuddles, she loves to be in my arms.
He doesn't lift a leg over the house either. In fact till Pippi, we always had boys for over 50 years and never had a dog pee over the house or hump each other or humans,( except a black lab, who humped a daughters visiting friend once, while she was in a sleeping bag, but never again) after being neutered.
Caleb humps toys, but it's not even every month. He didn't do it when Pippi was in season and didn't bother her, nor did my border collie. I hear it's different for dogs that have been studs.
I keep reading of male dogs, lifting their legs over the house, and females not being so friendly, but that's not been our experience. We've found male dogs, more laid back and generally male animals ferrets, rabbits, rats etc...more laid back than the females. ..yet we have had females who love cuddles.
Good luck with your addition, we loved adding Pippi. More work but worth it.
