Emilee has had diarrhea now since last Monday (2/20/06) On Tuesday it was very runny, no substance whatsoever. I took her to the Vet. He gave her Cimetidine 200 mg to decrease acid in stomach. She takes one per day and is still has six doses to go. He also gave her Loperamide anti-dearrheal liquid (3 doses). She's done with that. She has not had a temperatue at all. Her stool has thickened, but is far from "log" form. She's been eating Science Diet puppy hard and canned mixed together. I've seen on YT about giving some cottage cheese and asked Vet about it and he told me it is not a good idea to give cottage cheese even though they like it. Emilee is still nursing (whelped 2/1/06). If I cut down on the canned food, it helps a little. Should a nursing mother have the canned food or is she okay with just the dry? She acts like she feels good, plays, eats well, drinks plenty of water. I just don't know what to do. I am calling the Vet again this morning as soon as they open. I'm tired of worrying and cleaning up diarrhea. Thanks in advance for any help offered.
