Our yorkie Kinder is four years old and if someone comes up to me to shake hands or hug me that is it. Kinder will growl and nip at them. Now I just do not let people touch me. She is fine when they pet her but touch me no. She is like that with my husband too. Both of us do tell her no and she seems to understand. The no word helps but we still do not want other people touching us while we hold her. Kinder is just being protective in our arms; she loves people and gets along well with them. If someone we know very well wants to pet her we sternly tell her be nice in our arms. Then again she loves people. Also she does sense people that are mean to animals. We knew a couple who were not nice to their pets and Kinder growled and barked at them. I think dogs are very smart they know and they are loyal to us. Susan
