My other little dog, Missy, NEVER has this "dog smell" and I only need to wash her every 2 weeks now in Winter here in South Africa, but Kelly just needs to be bathed every week, otherwise the smell is just too much - specially because they are spoiled and sleep on my bed. What can cause this? It is NOT the "fishy smell" due to glands. It is ...... I do not know what else to call it, but that she smells like dog. (I KNOW she is a dog!!! But, this is not normal). I'll still love her, even if it can not come right, but it will help a lot! Kind regards from me, Hentie, from Kleinmond, South Africa.
Did you smell the ears to make sure the smell is not coming from there? When I got Lexi I thought she just smelled bad too until I finally realized the smell was actually coming from her ears and she had an infection. I felt so bad because I know she had the infection for at least a week or 2 before I realized it.
