The first time we left Luma alone as a puppy she somehow tore an entire tile up from the bathroom floor. That was two years ago, she did eventually grow out of that phase where she wanted to chew on the furniture, cords, and even walls. What really helped was to make sure she always had a toy or something to keep her occupied while we were busy. Her favorite for this is a tightly braided rope toy. Toys with stuffing or little plastic eyeballs/bits/bobs were useless and even dangerous as she'd always tear pieces off and try to eat them, but the rope toys are nearly 2 years old and she still hasn't destroyed them. Glad you still get your puppy. An exercise pen is extremely helpful when they are still little and getting into everything.
