I don't like 4ft leashes for small dogs under 10lbs honestly... they're just so low to the ground, there isn't much room for slack anyway, you know? Example, if a Lab is being walked on a 4ft leash, they're very high up off the ground, but a little 5lb yorkie is going to be so low to the ground, it just doesn't give them much room.

I do use a 5ft leash for 17lb Jackson for city walking or if we're in crowded places. But that extra foot makes a difference. I wouldn't like a 4ft leash for him.

I use different leashes for different occasions. lol. We have a 26ft Flexi, a 50ft long line, 5ft, 6ft, etc... depends on the situation.
