I have heard of some being over 20 lbs. Just because the parents are small does not mean their offspring will be small. I have had pups that were all out of the same litter, with parents around 7 lbs, that would range in size from 5 lbs to 12 lbs. It is all about genetics. The original yorkies were bigger in size than they are today. Many breeders have bred them down in size by inbreeding and line breeding. Some of the older lines are still around and because of that some bigger yorkies are still being produced. All yorkies are lovable regardless of size.
